Nursery, Pre-K, & Elementary
Children's ministry is available every Sunday morning for nursery-aged children through the 5th grade.
Children 6 months to 3 years of age are invited into the nursery starting 15 minutes before service begins. Pre-K and Elementary children are invited into the main service for a time of congregational worship and then are dismissed to their classrooms.
Christ-Centered and Parent-Led
The children’s ministry at Clarksburg Church takes a co-op style approach. We consider the most influential person in a child’s spiritual development to be you, the parent or parent figure. It’s our goal to assist you in loving your child so they know the love of God and love their neighbors on Earth as it is in Heaven.
The COVID pandemic provided a glimpse of the challenges that parents and children face when they have to do life in isolation. More than ever before we recognized how much we need other parents and other kids in our family rhythms. We want to do children’s ministry in a way that connects our kids to their parents’ faith and connects their parents to other parents on the same journey.
What does it mean to be a co-op?
With a co-op style of children’s ministry, each parent volunteers to serve in children’s ministry every month in some capacity. If a parent doesn’t attend, is ineligible to volunteer, or is serving the congregation in another capacity, their child can still participate in the Children’s Ministry.
Our hope is that we will be able to offer weekly in-person children’s ministry where parents are trained and discipled to pray with their kids, read the Bible in a relevant way, worship God, have faith conversations, and practice BELLS as a family for the rest of the week. This will also give parents an opportunity to get to know the other parents they are serving alongside.
Curriculum
At Clarksburg Church, we follow the Grow Curriculum for children. The teaching strategy behind Grow Kids has been created, influenced, and written by hundreds of real kids pastors, in real kids ministries, from a diversity of church contexts, cultures, sizes, and denominations. Our goal is to help you help your kids grow spiritually, by teaching and discussing Scripture in developmentally appropriate ways.
We have selected this curriculum because it closely aligns with our values and beliefs about Children’s Ministry.
